We rented this morotcycle and 4-wheeler and found some new places in our city. This is possibly the most fun we've had since we've been here.

I was really sore the next day from riding this big boy.
Posted by Picasa

We had to take some individuals for the family.

Ripin' it up!

The road was pretty bad most of the way because of all the rain.
Posted by Picasa

We had to wait about an hour and a half for a bulldozer to come and move the rockslide off of the road.
Posted by Picasa

As beautiful as this country is, is does get lonely out here without Crystal.
Posted by Picasa

Trying to stay dry is always quite a chore.
Posted by Picasa

I gave this boy some Pop Rocks and he thought they were pretty strange.
Posted by Picasa

Just me in some corn.
Posted by Picasa

This little girl was really outgoing and we taked a lot.
Posted by Picasa

Although I'm sure you'll disagree, this meat (once fully cooked) is actually delicious.

We have been told that there are monkeys in the mountains that we hike in, but we've never seen one. This one was someone's pet.

We bought some firecrackers in a tiny town that we stayed in overnight. I gave a roman candle to this local guy and he had fun with it.

Does this city look familiar? This huge bilboard of the Houston skyline is at the entrance to a city that we stopped at on our way home. It made me feel right at home since I grew up about 20 minutes from here. The green freeway signs say Dallas, Lake Jackson and Victoria.

We set off for our new adventure and the view was spectacular as always.
Posted by Picasa

I'll be darn, a flat.
Posted by Picasa

We would often stop and move rocks on the road or just get out for a few minutes while the driver put it in 4 wheel drive and tried to pass something that we'd rather not see in first person view.

Andrew and I decided to have a race. I won!
Posted by Picasa

This is Crystal's class.
Posted by Picasa

You can tell by what's on the chalkboard that Crystal is teaching these students the most important things from American culture.
Posted by Picasa

We relaxed with some compettive fishing after class.

Grandpa and Grandson were out for a day in the park.

The "Christmat Day" ice cream turned out to be one of our favorites.
Posted by Picasa

I asked the shopkeeper if this Super Tomato ice cream was any good. He said "no, but it's cheap". So we dropped 6 cents and we're disappointed when it turned out to be chocolate. We showed the shopkeeper and he said, "that's what you get for 6 cents".

This is an advertisement for an English summer course. Daming and Lingling will be the instructors.

What do you think?

Pig intestine on a stick. Can life get better?
Posted by Picasa

On the day that we talked about Christmas we had a white elephant gift exchange.
Posted by Picasa

The kids were excited about their gifts.
Posted by Picasa

As you can see, the kids just love me!
Posted by Picasa

Yum. Apples right off the tree. I think the beard makes me look a little pudgy.
Posted by Picasa

Thankfully this wasn't our ride.
Posted by Picasa

The kids went crazy over the used U.S. postage stamps we gave them.
Posted by Picasa

We had a BBQ at our house about a month ago. It was delicious!
Posted by Picasa

At a funeral these white pieces of paper are thrown on street as people walk to the burial site. They're similar to the "hell bank notes" that you can see below.
Posted by Picasa

These are placed at tombs.
Posted by Picasa

This is a funeral. The family of the deceased wear white headdresses. White symbolizes death in this culture.
Posted by Picasa

Can you figure out what this shirt says? It took us a while.

Crystal is helping out with dinner in this home that we stayed in one night.
Posted by Picasa

We happened upon this school way out in the mountains.
Posted by Picasa

These folks make a mean bowl of noodles and pig intestines...seriously.
Posted by Picasa

Approaching our favorite scenic spot on the way.
Posted by Picasa

We pass by this lake on many of our trips and it never fails to impress us.

The trekk begins!

Enjoying a cookie made by a friend's grandma straight from the US of A.

It took a while to dry out Andrew's size 13 boots.
Posted by Picasa

This friend that we met watched us dry Andrew's boots over a fire for an hour and a half after he slipped off into a rice field.

An enthusiastic Andrew the woman who bravely pulled a leech off of Crystal's neck.
