I set off with two friends of mine to climb a mountain. We drove about 4 hours away from our house and arrived here at base camp after about a half day's hike.

This is the summit. The next four pictures will give you an idea of how far away from it we were.

The view was spectacular as always.

Taking a rest on the way up.

At this point the rock ends and the ice begins so we had to put on crampons (ice shoes) and use ice axes.
Posted by Picasa

Long way to go.
Posted by Picasa

The way up was grueling.
Posted by Picasa

Glad to be here.

We finally made it to the summit at 17,703 feet.
